Conclusions
- Charon most likely formed in a giant impact
- Forming Neptune closer to the Sun than present and/or later
than the other planets seems to help Pluto form as well as get
into its current orbit
- It is not clear which model, if any, is correct for the
formation of Pluto and its orbit
- For once, we have most of the data we need on Pluto/Charon.
A great deal of modelling is still needed, however
