Tips for Your Syllabus
- View policies section as a contract:
- Explain why the policies are as they are
- Tell the students what to expect of you
- Try to get all of your rules, even ones you might think are
rather obvious (like your plagiarism policy) in there.
- It isn't recommended that you change policies mid-term. If
you do so, make sure you make things easier on the
students.
- A simple website for the class (a few basic pages) would go
a long way. Put the syllabus and schedules online, in
particular.
